Age Policy
JAV Beacon is intended for adults (18+). We publish no explicit media, and we explain the design choices behind that.
JAV Beacon covers an adult subject. This page explains who the site is for and the deliberate choices behind how it’s built.
This site is for adults
JAV Beacon is intended for adults only — 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live, whichever is higher. If you are not an adult in your jurisdiction, please leave.
The subject we cover — Japan’s adult-video industry — is an adult topic, even though we discuss it as reporting and explanation rather than showing it.
We publish no explicit media
This is the single most important thing to understand about JAV Beacon:
- We do not host explicit images or video, anywhere on the site.
- We do not embed or link to pirated, uncensored, or explicit material.
- What we publish is text: plain-English explainers about the law, the terminology, the business, and the culture.
This isn’t a temporary state or a technical limitation. It’s a design choice, and it’s permanent. If you came looking for explicit content, this site does not have it and will not have it.
Why we built it this way
Two reasons, and they reinforce each other.
Editorial. Our whole reason to exist is to be the clean, legal-first reference in a space full of pirate mirrors and “free streaming” traps. Hosting explicit media would put us in exactly the company we’re trying to steer readers away from. (See our editorial standards.)
Responsible design. Adult-content regulations in several countries — such as the UK’s Online Safety Act and a growing number of US state laws — focus on sites that host or serve explicit material. By choosing to be a text-only, explainer site that hosts no explicit media and runs no user forums or comment sections, we keep JAV Beacon a reference publication rather than an adult-content host.
We are describing our design intent here, not making a legal claim about any particular country’s rules. Where a specific jurisdiction requires additional age-assurance measures, we will add them for that jurisdiction rather than pretend the question doesn’t exist. If you believe we’ve gotten something wrong for your country, please tell us.
No user-generated content
By design, JAV Beacon has no comment sections, forums, uploads, or user profiles. There is nothing for visitors to post, and therefore nothing for us to moderate. Email is the only channel between readers and us.
Performer rights
Consistent with Japan’s AV performer-protection law, we use only rights-cleared or official material and do not feature performers who have requested removal or withdrawal of their work. Removal requests are handled promptly — see contact and editorial standards.
