Editorial Standards
Our sourcing rules and the hard lines we don't cross: no piracy, no uncensored content, no venue referrals, and respect for performer rights.
These standards define what JAV Beacon publishes and, just as importantly, what it refuses to. They are not marketing language — they are the rules the site is built on.
Sourcing
- We reference official and primary sources: studios’ and platforms’ own pages, official creator channels, court and government texts, and reputable reporting. Where a claim can move fast (platform availability, affiliate terms, laws), we date it and re-check before relying on it.
- Data and news are attributed. Explainers and diagrams are our own work.
Hard lines
- No piracy or unauthorized reposting. We do not host, embed, or link to pirated video, ripped clips, or scraped images.
- No uncensored content. We do not link to, or promote, uncensored distribution.
- No venue referrals. We do not name, review, or drive traffic to adult-services venues. Where we cover Japanese nightlife for visitors, we stick to lawful entertainment, the legal framework, and consumer-protection information.
- Performer rights come first. We use only rights-cleared or official material. We do not feature performers who have requested removal or withdrawal of their work, in line with Japan’s AV performer-protection law.
How we handle legal questions
A lot of what we cover touches the law — what’s legal to watch, where, and under which rules. We hold ourselves to three things here:
- Information, not legal advice. We explain how laws and rules work in plain English. We don’t give legal advice, and nothing on this site should be treated as such.
- We don’t assert legality where it’s genuinely uncertain. When the honest answer is “it depends on your country” or “confirm this locally,” we say so rather than claim a clean yes or no.
- We date what moves. Laws, platform availability, and affiliate terms change. Time-sensitive claims are dated and re-checked before we rely on them.
Who the site is for, and why we host no explicit media, is set out on our age policy page.
